The Kingdom of Nepal is a narrow sliver
of land squeezed between burgeoning
India to the south and the vast Tibetan
plateau to the north. She rises from
plain to plain, valley to valley,
mountain to mountain - a precipitous
staircase that ends at the roof of the
world, the Abode of Snows.
Eight of the world's 8 highest summits
out of 14 highest mountains, including
Mt. Everest, lie within her borders.
Since its inception in 1984, Nepal has
introduced thousands of people around
the world to the spectacular high peaks
of the Himalayas, from Nepal to Tibet to
Bhutan. While most are drawn by the
mountains, their lasting memories are
with the extraordinary people who
inhabit them. |
