Day 01:
Kathmandu |
|
Arrive in Kathmandu. Welcome and
Assistance on arrival at Airport.
Transfer to Hotel. Hotel Check in.
Dinner and overnight stay at Kathmandu. |

|
Day 02: KATHMANDU/GORKHA |
|
After breakfast at the Hotel. Drive
approximately 4-5 hours to reach to
Gorkha. Arrive at Gorkha afternoon
sightseeing of Gorkha bazaar and the
palace of Gorkha King. Gorkha is the
traditional starting point for treks up
to Budhi Gandaki. Overnight stay at
Gorkha. |

Day 03: |
|
GORKHA/KHANCHOWK (956 M.)
From Gorkha it will take us near about 7
hrs to reach to Khanchowk. We follow the
right trail towards Khanchowk bazaar for
the night halt. Khanchowk commands good
view of Gorkha himal. Overnight stay at
Khanchowk. |

Day 04: |
|
KHANCHOWK/ARUGHAT (600 m.)
As it takes us two days from Gorkha to
Arughat after making a halt at Khanchowk,
we continue on to Arukot. The trek today
involves little bit of up and down
towards Budhi Gandaki. Arughat is the
largest village of this river basin.

Day 05: |
|
ARUGHAT/SETI KHOLA (710 M.)
Arughat is in two parts, on opposite
sides of the river Budhi Gandaki we turn
towards west across the bridge over
Budhi Gandaki to begin with the trek.
After completing with the ACAP
procedure, we follow the stone-paved
street north through the bazaar. We pass
through the hydro- electric power plant,
fields of rice and millet to Maltar,
forests full of monkeys to Sante Bazzar..
The trail to Budhi Gandaki valley now
becomes steeper and the trek more
difficult as we cross the Arkhet Khola
on a suspension bridge, passing the
shops of Arkhet. We descend to a high,
cascading waterfall making a long steep
slog up a ridge to Kyorpani. Then from
here the trail descends to Seti Khola.

Day 06: |
|
SETI KHOLA/LABUBESI (880 M.)
We cross the bridge and trek through the
beautiful Sal forests, then climbs onto
a ridge above huge rapids on the Budhi
Gandaki. We then reach to Khursane The
rocky trail then weaves its way up and
down, past two tropical waterfalls on a
steep, rocky trail clinging to the side
of a cliff. It eventually makes its way
down and past a few rice terraces, then
up and around to the Gurung village of
Labubesi. Overnight stay at Labubesi. |

Day 07: |
|
LABUBESI /TATOPANI (930M.)
We climb behind a rocky outcrop to a
school, where the valley opens and the
Budhi Gandaki meanders among wide gravel
bars. We drop to the sandy river bed at
860m and walk along rounded stones
before climbing about 110m over a side
ridge. Head down again to the river and
traverse to Machha Khola village. The
narrow trail makes some minor ups and
downs and eventually crosses the Tharo
Khola, flowing in a rocky ravine, then
reaches Khorlabesi. After few more ups &
downs there is a small trailside
hotspring, from where we reach to
Tatopani. Overnight stay at Tatopani. |

Day 08: |
|
TATOPANI TO JAGAT(1410 M.)
After breakfast at the campsite we head
for our other destination. From the Hot
spring we climb over another ridge, then
cross the Budhi Gandaki on a suspension
bridge. Now on the eastern side of the
river, we climb on a wide, well-crafted
staircase, then across a landslide and
over a ridge to Doban. The river valley
widens, and the trail descends to the
Budhi Gandaki, which is now meandering
serenely among gravel bars. Crossing a
93m- long suspension bridge over the
Yaru Khola we climb the stone stairs and
then drop to the river and again climb
more stone stairs to Tharo Bharyang. We
then cross to the west bank of the budhi
gandaki, climb over a ridge, trek along
the river then climb towards the village
of Jagat. Overnight stay at Jagat. |

Day 09: |
|
JAGAT TO DENG(1800 M.)
We have two option while starting the
trek from Jagat to Deng either we can
rock- hop across the Bhalu Khola or go
quite a distance upstream and cross the
suspension bridge. We climb over a rocky
ridge to Salleri, then descend to
Setibas. The valley widens a bit as the
trail continues up to Ghatta Khola. We
continue upstream to a long suspension
bridge, crossing the bridge we climb up
to Philim, a large gurung village. The
trail turns north just above the lowest
house in the village and stays fairly in
level as it traverses millet fields to
Ekle Bhatti. Beyond Ekle Bhatti the
route enters a steep, uninhabited gorge.
We descend to the grassy land slopes,
cross the Budhi Gandaki, then trek along
the west bank for a while, then cross to
the east bank and then back again. We
make our way up the western side getting
the chance to see the large Shar Khola
joining the Budhi Gandaki on the
opposite bank. As we keep walking the
valley widens providing a pleasant walk
through bamboo forests to the Deng Khola,
crossing the khola we arrive at the tiny
village of Deng. Overnight stay at Deng. |

Day 10: |
|
DENG/GHAP (2095 M.)
After a short distance beyond Deng we
recross the Budhi Gandaki on to the
north bank and then climb to Rana at
1980m. From the bridge we climb a bit to
join a trail from Bhi , then head west
up the Budhi Gandaki valley. Crossing
various streams and rivers we drop into
the Sringi Valley. Making ups and downs
in forests, we pass mani walls and then
turn to a corner and contours to Ghap.

Day 11: |
|
GHAP/ LHO GAON (3180 M.)
Crossing the wooden bridge over Budhi
Gandaki we follow the path lined with
houses interspersed with cultivated
fields and the bamboo and rhododendron
forests, and reach to Namrung. At
Namrung, there is a police check post
again. Beyond Namrung, the trek enters
upper Nupri and then climb to Barsam,
then up through a forest of firs,
rhododendrons and oaks to Lihi at 2900m.
We leaving a village through a kani ,
make a long sweep into a wooded canyon
and then to Sho. We cross a small ravine
to a big prayer wheel in the middle of
our trail, then climb through more
fields to 3030m and then to the small
settlement of Shirp. From here we climb
past a small stream to Lho. Overnight
stay at Lho gaon. |

Day 12: |
|
LHO GAON/KARGYU CHHOLING GOMPA
We drop down to the Damonan Khola,
crossing it on a bridge and then ascend
again following the north fork of the
stream through damp forests and then
finally emerge onto a plateau at Shyaula,
which has a chorten and a small gompa.
Crossing the bridge and trekking in and
out of the canyon of the Thosang Khola,
then descend onto a rock-strewn moraine
and then reach to Samagaon, which
possesses a large Gompa. Climb up to the
many buildings and residences of Kargyu
Chholing gompa. Overnight stay at the
campsite near the gompa.

Day 13: |
|
GOMPA/SAMDO (3860 M.)
We descend to the Budhi Gandaki, that
has turned north, and follow it to a
bridge over a side stream. The trail to
the left leads to the Manaslu Base camp.
The Larkya la Trail passes several mani
walls as the valley begins to widen. It
is an easy trail on a shelf above the
river passing the juniper and birch
forests of Kermo Kharka. We drop off the
shelf, cross the Budhi Gandaki on a
wooden bridge and climb steeply onto a
promontory between two forks of the
river. From a stone arch we can see a
large white kani, finally passing
through the kani we find Samdo. Camp
tonight here. |

Day 14: |
|
SAMDO/LARKYA REST HOUSE (4450
M.)
We descend on a wide, gentle trail from
Samdo, passing many fields to a big old
mani wall, drop to the river, which is
very small and narrow, and cross it on a
wooden bridge. Climb again to the ridge
overlooking the remains of a thriving
Lyarkya bazaar. Cross two small streams
before Larkya Glacier. Then, ascend from
here to stirringly built buildings
called "Guest House". |

Day 15: |
|
GUEST HOUSE/LARKE PHEDI (4450
M.)
We start up the ridge in front of the
rest house, eventually becoming a long,
gentle climb beside a moraine. We climb
slowly toward Cho Canda and continue on
to further ascending steep uphill
heading to Larkya la (5135 m.).
Magnificent view of Himlung Himal (7126
m.), Cheo Himal, Gyaij Kang, Kang Guru
(7010 m.) and Annapurna II are visible
from here. It is steep descent again on
the other side of the pass covered with
full of snow. We camp at the foot of
Larke pass. |

Day 16: |
|
LARKE PHEDI/GHO (2560 M.)
We descend again to Larcia and to a hill
called Pangal. At Tangbuche, we descend
again toward Bimtang. We climb the
lateral moraine for a while until
moraine ends to a riverbed. Descend
again through Rhododendron forests to
Hompak toward cultivated field to arrive
at Karche. From here we cross a slide,
then go across fields before making a
steep climb over a ridge. The trail
comes off the ridge in a big, sweeping
arc to the river bank at 2580m. A short
distance beyond is the village of Gho.

Day 17: |
|
GHO/DHARAPANI (1920M.)
We continue through the fields, over a
clear stream, passing through the houses
and fields interspersed with
rhododendron and oak forests. Staying on
the north bank we trek into Tilje. We
climb over a small ridge to the stone -
paved village and wind among the closely
spaced houses of this large Village.
Leaving the village we cross the Dudh
Khola and trek along the river
embankment. We cross a wooden bridge
back to the northern side of the Dudh
Khola and climb up through a chorten-shaped
arch and past a mani wall to Thonje. To
get to Dharapani, we turn left just
beyond the hotel, pass the large,
tin-roofed high school and cross a long
suspension bridge over the Marsyangdi.
We reach at Dharapani. Overnight stay at
Dharapani. |

Day 18: DHARAPANI/SYANGE |
|
After breakfast at our campsite at
Dharapani we head towards Syange. We
trek south through the steepest part of
the Marsyangdi gorge. Camping at Syange. |
|
|
|
Day 19: SYANGE/BHULBULE (846 M.) |
|
We follow the Marsyangdi Khola south
into rice-terrace. Overnight stay at
Bhulbule. |
|
|
|
Day 20: BHULBULE/BESI SAHAR (823 M.) 6-7
HRS. |
|
From Bhulbule we trek to Beshi Sahar
with this trek we are almost towards the
end of our trek to Manaslu. Camp at Besi
Sahar. |
|
|
|
Day 21: BESI SAHAR/DUMRE/KATHMANDU |
|
After early breakfast, drive for about
7-8 hours back to Kathmandu. |
|
|
|
Day 22: FULL DAY CITY TOUR |
|
AM: Breakfast at Hotel. Visit 2000 years
old shrine Swyambhunath Temple, which is
also known as temple of monkeys. It is
said that Asoka paid a visit to the site
2000 years ago. By 1200s it was an
important Buddhist center. Visit
colorful Durbar square known as Hanuman
Dhoka Palace, Temple of living goddess
Kumari, Jagannath temple known for its
colorfully painted wood carvings and
Kasthamandap temple a three story pagoda
style. It is believed that this temple
is built from single tree in the 12th
century.
Lunch: 1300hrs- 1400hrs
PM: After Lunch, Visit Old Royal Palace
of Patan City including Krishna Mandir
which is the best example of stone
architecture in Nepal, 12th century
Mahaboudha known in english as Golden
temple of 10,000 Buddha Shikar style
temple originally built in 1585. Dinner
and overnight stay at Kathmandu. |

Day 23: Departure to
Airport |
|
AM: Breakfast at Hotel. Free time till
departure to Airport. |
